Expert Tax Planning Services

Our Approach

At Actio Tax Advisors, our approach to tax planning is built on a deep understanding of the tax code, financial systems, and how businesses actually operate. By combining expertise across tax, ERP environments, and financial services, we’re able to look beyond the surface and identify opportunities others often miss.

What sets us apart is the collective experience of our team. We don’t rely on one perspective—we bring together multiple disciplines to evaluate your situation from every angle, ensuring your strategy is both accurate and optimized.

This integrated approach allows us to elevate tax planning from a once-a-year task to an ongoing, strategic advantage—helping you make better decisions, stay ahead of changes, and position your business for long-term growth.

Tax Planning Approach

Methodology

Our approach to tax planning is methodical, proactive, and built around the full picture of your business—not just your tax return.

We take the time to understand how your business operates day-to-day, analyzing your cash flow, financial statements, and bookkeeping to uncover opportunities that are often overlooked. By connecting these moving parts, we’re able to identify strategies that not only reduce your tax liability but also strengthen your overall financial position.

Rather than reacting at year-end, we focus on forward planning. This includes projecting outcomes, evaluating different scenarios, and implementing strategies throughout the year to keep you in control. Every recommendation is intentional—aligned with your growth goals, risk tolerance, and long-term vision.

Our goal is simple: help you keep more of what you earn while building a more efficient, scalable business.

Tax Tips & Best Practices

Reconciliation is key for smooth W-2 processing.

Utilize the Accumulator Gross Verify tool to reconcile W-2 totals effectively as it verifies the accuracy of the accumulator gross.

Here's a quick overview:

- Calculate New Gross: Total Amount Paid - Exempt Pays - Exempt Deductions = New Gross.
- The Accumulator Gross Verify subtracts current payroll exceptions from Total Pay within the specified period.

For seamless reconciliation, it's advisable to run the Accumulator Gross Verify monthly. This practice helps in promptly spotting any discrepancies.

SSRS Reporting Tip: Understanding Projection Numbers in Employee Data

When creating custom SSRS reports for employee data, it’s crucial to understand how projection numbers affect the records you see.

Here’s how it works:

• Projection 0 displays the data for Live Employee records.

• Projection 2 is the initial snapshot taken by the system of the Employee’s Live screens to create the PA (Personnel Action) you see as the user.

• Subsequent projections (e.g., Projection 3, 4, 5) correspond to new instances of PAs created for that employee.

Keeping projection numbers in mind ensures you’re pulling the right data for your custom SQL report.
